What is the usage of the medicine and how does it work?
  • Lenalid is used for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma, Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) and transfusion-dependent myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients with deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality with or without additional cytogenetic abnormalities. It may act by inhibiting the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) in tumors, enhancing the status of the immune system, or decreasing cytokine and growth factor production.

How to take this medicine?
  • Your doctor will determine your exact dosage and schedule for taking Lenalid. It should be taken by mouth and a full glass of water. Store it at room temperature.

What are things you need to know before taking this medicine?
  • This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women as it can harm the unborn baby or may cause some serious ljfe threatening birth defects.
  • Do not take any type of vaccinations while you are taking this medicine without consulting your treating doctor.
  • Do not breast feed while taking this medicine.  

What are the side effects/adverse reactions of this medicines?
  • Side effects of Lenalid include constipation, nausea, sore throat, generalized aches and pains, fever, back pain, swelling of ankles or feet, cough, dizziness, headache, muscle cramps, shortness of breath, generalized weakness, nose bleed, infection, dry skin , anemia (low red blood cell count), pneumonia, low potassium, poor appetite, vomiting.
  • A rare but serious side effect is blood clots, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolus (PE).

  • Carbotero is used to treat ovarian cancer. It is also used to treat other types of cancer.

How to take this medicine?
  • Carboplatin is usually given by infusion into a vein (intravenous, IV). It can also be given intra-peritoneal, directly into the peritoneal cavity in the abdomen. Your doctor will determine your dose and schedule. 

What are things you need to know before taking this medicine?
  • Decreased sensation, numbness and tingling in fingers and toes may become progressively worse with repeated doses of Carboplatin.
  • Do not take any type of vaccination while you are taking this injection without consulting your doctor.

  • Side effects of Carbotero include burning sensation at the injection site, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, mouth sores, infection, peripheral neuropathy (numbness and tingling of the extremities), central neurotoxicity (infrequent), hearing loss (ototoxicity) - loss of high pitched sounds, abnormal blood liver enzymes (SGOT, Alkaline phosphatase), cardiovascular events(infrequent).
